What you need to know about quality - the Quality Assurance Agency for HE (QAA) (00019)


Description
In this session QAA will give a whistle-stop tour of the work it does to maintain and enhance quality and standards in higher education across the UK and internationally. The session will also provide an overview of how students influence and drive QAA’s work through our student engagement structures and explain how students and student representatives can participate within these structures.

By the end of this section, you should be able to:
• Understand the role of the QAA in maintaining and improving the quality and standards of higher education.
• Gain insight into the importance of quality assurance and standards in higher education within the United Kingdom and on an international scale.
• Recognise the impact and influence that students have on shaping QAA's initiatives and processes, as well as the overall higher education landscape.
• Understand the various mechanisms and structures through which students engage with and drive QAA's work, including student representation.
• Learn how students and student representatives can actively participate in and contribute to the quality assurance and standards enhancement processes within QAA.

Audience: Student officers, volunteers and interested staff members
