In this session, policy and research leads from Student Minds, a UK student mental health charity, will talk through some key challenges for managing your wellbeing in the Sabbatical Officer role. You will be given some tips, training and resources around boundary setting, managing difficult conversations, managing conflict and looking after yourself and your colleagues.

By the end of this section, you should be able to:
• Demonstrate an understanding of the key challenges related to managing wellbeing in the Sabbatical Officer role.
• Identify effective strategies for setting boundaries to maintain personal and professional balance.
• Apply communication techniques for managing difficult conversations in a leadership context.
• Recognise the importance of self-care and its impact on personal and team performance.
• Utilise resources and tools to support your own wellbeing and that of colleagues in the role of a Sabbatical Officer.
• Assess and adapt personal leadership practices to foster a healthy and supportive work environment.
